SPORTS BALLS RECYCLING
TreadLightly recycles SPORTS BALLS to help reduce the millions of balls that end up in landfill each year.
Since 2022, the SPORTS BALL program (formerly Game On) collected 35 tonnes of tennis balls, rackets, inflatable sports balls and snow sports equipment.
In 2024, ASGA took over operations of Game On Recycling as part of the TreadLightly initiative – recycling balls at Rebel and select sporting clubs.
WHY SPORTS BALLS?
- 10 million tennis balls are used each year to play the game we love.
- It’s predicted that 330 million balls are made worldwide each year, and most of these eventually end up in landfill.
- Balls components can take more than 400 years to decompose.
